THEATRE ROYAL.
"THE DUKE'S MOTTO."
Thk romantic drama of " The Duke's Motto " was produced at the Theatre Koyal last evening. Herr Bandmann wag oast for no leas than three characters, viz., Henri Laryardere, /Esop, the Hunchback, and Henrique, the Armourer. Lngardere is the hero of tho play, and the impersonation of the gallant soldier, who dnvoteil his life to the service of the infant child of Do Nevcrs, and who eventually restored her to r;ink and title, was excellent. The part of JEsup required a complete change of voice and make up, aud both these requisites were ! orthcoming. Herr Bandruanu was several times calSed before the curtain to receive the applause of the audience. Sir J. T. Catlicart, as the Duke do Gouzaque, and Mr C. Hall, as Phillipe D'Orleans and the Duke do Nevers, were both successful. Miss Beaudet made an excellent Blanche dc Nevera. " Romeo and Juliet" is announced * for this evening.
