WRECK OF A STEAMER.
The small steamer Piako Btruob on a sunken rock near Morgan's, Whangarei Harbour, on Friday evening, and Bank almoßt immediately afterwards. Sho waa under the charge ot Captain Brown at the time. Those on board succeeded in reaching the ahoro cafely. The b.s. Piako 18 a littlo Iron steamer, woll known at the Thames, she wna brought here by Captain Smi'h (who had chartered her) somo months ago, and Bhe wna sub3etjuently purchaaed hy Mr Kayo, proprietor of a timbor mill near Walpn. She waa employed in river work and for towing purposes. Tho a'eamer i 3 Inaured for £250 in the South Britißh Offlce.
