A ccording to the last reportl of tho Postmaster General of New Zealand, the average time consumed in a voyaco from Sydaey via San Francisco, has been forty-five days and about six hours, and by the way of tho Suez canal fortysix days anu about four hours. It will therefore bo seen that the City of Sydney has rndnced the timo ox tho voyage nourly four and one half days.

ARRIVAL OF THE MAIL STEAMER. The P.M. s.B. City of Sydney arrived from San wranciaco and Honolulu yosterday afternoon. She was signalled considerably more than tbreo hours before she reached the harbour, and therefore It was well known about town that rlin was coming in. The weithor was unusually fine, and the wharf was crowded with personij anxious to obtain a glimpse of Cole's wild beasts and the other manifold wonders of the gigantic show.
