The Bazaar.

The bazaar in aid of the Wcsley&n Waikato circuit opened at noon yesterday. The Rev. Bull was introduced by Gane, the circuit steward, who delivered the opening address. He said the member for Waikato had been invited to perform that ceremony, bnt was unable. The committee of Farmer's Club had generously allowed the free use of their building for sewing bees. The ladies had been working since January last, and other ladies bad met to sew at Hautnpu and Pukernna. Mr E. B. Walker had assisted in obtaining a large quantity of goods from England for the bazaar. The present ' bazaar was the third held for the same pur--1 pose, the tno previous having been held at Te Awamutn and Hamilton. At the close of the address he invited the audience to inspect and purchase goods. It is estimated that there are at least £600 worth of goods on sale. The following ladies preside at the stalls:—Mesdames Walker, Booth, Nixon, Mynolt, Hnghes, Cadwortb, Clark, Ball, Mackintosh, (iarland, Wright, Taylor, Houghton, Reynolds, Gane, Meddles, Norri?, Walker, Short, Purcheon, Alford, Brown, Uoughton, Reynolds, Franklyn, Johnson, JHunciman (2), Doran, Young, Gane, Caley, Fleming, and J. and IS. Caley. At the refreshment stall presided Mesdames Culpan, Hall, and Ripley, and Misa Kingdom. At the Postofficej Mrs Goodfellow and Miss Young, with Messrs Rose and Stubbing. Two galvanic batteries are in charge of Messrs Benner, Kobcrr, and Fred Houghton. The scales are in charge of Mr J. Bridgeman. The decorators of the hall were Messrs R. Stubbing, Whitehouse, and others. The hon. treasurer is Mr J. Gane, the hon. secretary, Mr John Hough ton, junr,; the ladies' secretary, Miss Alford. The gentleman refreshment committee are Messrs D. Caley, Johnson, Dewson, and Bridgeman. To-night Mr Buckland will sell two allotments of land for the benefit of the (bazaar fund.
