WELLINGTON, this day. THE SENTENCES OP DEATH.
I hear that the cases of the two murderers now under sentence of death came before the Executive to-day, but nothing definite was arrived at. With regard to the Chinaman, the official papers have not yet arrived from Otago,* bo nothing conld be done. .The case of the Auckland murderer, Fijian Joe, was discussed at considerable length,,but it was decided advisable that sonic 'further information.'"* should be obtained before a decision was come to. <w to -"carrying out or remitting the fatal sentence.
