Assessment Courts.
(Before It. C. Barstow, Esq., Judge.)
Newton.—The Assessment? Conrt for tho Newton Highway |05strict was held in the oflice of Messr Wai-nock Bros, Mr Robt. J. Warnoek in the chair.—Mr Ha) ea.! valuer was present —Mr Warnoek informed Mr Barstow that Mr G. A. Cl rke had appeared against the valuatiou of hisdairyfarm, Surrey Hill?, as excessive. It was valued at £1080. The Hon. James Williams >n had previously appealed the racing lof his portion £318 15s, on the same grounds. The terms were that Mr Clarke, should be assessed at £500. Edward McGarry £45, and the Hon. Mr Williamson £45 15s, making a reduction of £540 on the property, or a loss of revenue of £22 10s.—This was tjic Erincipal business, and the assessment list eing sign'd the C turt rose , „ Arch HlLL.—This Court was held in Mr McGregor's house, Burns-street, trader tna presidency of Mr Barstow.—There were no objections, and the valuation was siguea and attested.
