In accordance with journalistic rule, " Observer" should send his letter to tho paper in which the remarks objected to appeared. Our own correspondence fully occupies all available space. B&KNAHY Rudce.—The duel between the Karl of Cardigan and Captain Tuckett, was fought on Wimbledon common, near tho old windmill, on the 12th September IS4O. Tuckett was wounded iv the shoulder by Cardigan's shot. Tho Earl was tried for the oilbnce and acquitted. The chief witness was Thomas Hunt Daun, the occupier of the windmill, and whilst he was intent on watching the scene, Mrs Daun was delivered of n son, who iv consequence, was christened " Cardigan."
