WELLINGTON, this day. CLEARANCE OF THE ORDER PAPER,

A considerable clearance of the Order Paper was made yesterday, The bill reducing Ministers' salaries was thrown out by 35 to 25; the Elective Council Bill by 35 to 24; and the Act to prevent Corruption in Parliament by a majority of two. The Auckland Improvemant Commissioners Bill passed. - The House continued sitting till 4 30 th)S morning; disposing of 22 bills during that time, iucluding several which were withdrawn. The following bills passed : Kawakawa Corporation Mines Act Amendment Act, Auckland Improvement Commissioners Forest Trees, Wellington Provin» cial District Highways Board, Palmerston Road Reserves, Registration of Dogs, Auckland Harbour Board, Oreti Bridge aud Ferry Reserve, Maori Representation Amendmeut, Riverton Drill-shed Reserve, Wanganui Endowed Schools, Alexandra Corporation Reserve, Queensto-rrn Racecourse Reserve. Auckland College and Grammar Schooi, Hawkes Bay Rivers Act, Otago University Reserves, Seaward Oust Railway Grant of 170,000 acres. The bills withdrawn were the Municipal Corporation Act, Licensing Laws Amendment, Joint Stock Company's Act, Inch Clutha, Auckland Turnpike, and Width of Streets Bills. The House disagreed with the new clause introduced into the Mines Act by the Legislative House. It does not meet till 7.30 tonight. BOUND HOMEWARD. At three this morning the Auckland Collce Bill passed. Mr Moss opposed strondy, but the Government and many Auckland members supported the bill, and Mr Wood read a talsgram from JadgeFenton, stating that"all tho Governors agreed to the bill as amended. Mr Moss then withdrew further oppoa■liie Grammar School Bill confines education to highor branches, foundation scholars to be appointed by competitive examinations proscribed by the Governors, fees to cover the costs incurred in tuition. There are to be six governors instead of three, to be elected by members of the Assembly. Amendments were made on various clauses. Mr O'Rorke carried a new clause, allowing members of the Legislature to vote at elections by letter. Mr Moss denounced the Board elections as a sham.
