Five alternate shots of each description of dynamite were fired from a mortar charged with seventy Krainß of explosive, a 201b cannon-ball being used as a projectile, Tho average distance which the bail was thrown by Nobot's patent dynamite was 209 feet per Bhot, ami by the Melbourne dynamite and lithofracteur 181 feet 5 inches.
