Tuesday. 'J he Legislative Council sat an hour, but only unimportant business was taken, all dcbateablo matters being again postponed till Thursday. The Hon. Mr Whitaker gave notice to introduce a bill to amend the Prisons Act, 1575, with reference to the Maori prisoners now awaiting trial. ■ Mr G. Buckley gave notice to move that the export returns of the colony should be made more complete. The Hon. Sir D. Bell gave notice to] ask the Government a qnestion re Sir J. Yogel standing for Falmouth. KINROSS CASE. The Standing Orders Committee reported that the prosecutors: in Kinross' case had committed a breach of the privileges of the Cuuncil; but presuming they acted in ignorance, recommended that no notice be taken. There was a short discussion, the debate being ultimately adjourned till Thursday. The Council rose at 3.30.
