ARRIVAL OF THE MAIL STEAMER.

Time from San Francisco, 7 days and S hours. For Honolulu :40 cabin and 29Sage passengers, also 119 Chinese for sugar plantations; IGO tons rargo, 1178 dollars in treasure, and 13 bags mail. Left on the 27th at 7.25 a.m.; fine weather and smooth sea, with prevailing wind from north and north-east, up to March 9th; thenco strong south-east winds and strong head sea. On March 6th at 230 p.m , Island of Tnitnila abeam W.N.W. distant 20 miles, March Ist, at 7.10 a.m., John Kelly, steera<*o passenger, died; ho was buried same day, tho Rev. Father'Cassidy officiatlag. On March Bth, at 1 p.m., in lat. 22" 20 R, 1png.174-28 W., exchanged signals with a British man-of-war standing to the northward. On March 10th, lat. 29- 10 S. long. 179- 15 W.. passed a largo whale ship standing to tho N.E. under short sail; no signals exchanged. Great Barrier Island abeam on March 13th. at G a.m.; received Auckland pilot at 9.40 <i.m. Banning time from Honolulu to Auckland, pilot to pilot, was 13 days 2 hours 15 minutes.
