SERIOUS ACCIDENT
A SEAMAf named William "En-ell met witli a se/ere accident at Oudiunga on Tuesday ivening. He was sanding by the hatchvay of the s.s. Taiarca, when he was accidentally struck by a sliig that was lowering jacks of potatoes into the hold, a distant of 15 feel. He ..as knocked under tie combings, and fell into the hob. Sergeant Greene conveyed the injired man to the Hospital, where In was attended by Dr Cooper. Terrell las sustained severe jajury in the back, aui is not likely to recover. He was sober a; the time of the a«cident, and attribute* no blame to any person. After the acckeut, the captain and officers of the Taiaroa rendered all the assistance in their power. Terrell is a native of Tasmania, and 22 years of age. Oa inquiry at the Hospit^ this afternoon we learn that Terrell is slightly better. New Tears
