Sighted the Three Kings on the norningof the 21th with light westerly winds. Passed the North Cape the same night, and carried light S.W. winds to arrival. Passenger : Mrs Condy. The schooner Waiwera arrived from Poverty and Tolago Bays yesterday with a cargo of tallow, maize, &c. The schooner ;Colomst sailed from Manukau Heads for Waitara to-day with a cargo of timber. The schooner Atlantic cleared at the Customs to-day for Lyttelton with a cargo of timber, drain pipes, &c, and will sail at once. The fore-and-aft schooner Laetitia arrived from Noifolk Island this morning after a yery smart passage of four days to port and three days and 6 hours from land to land. Captain Couch rer orta:—Left Auckland on the Ist inst. with strong W.B.W. gales, which continued for four days. Put into Rusaell through stress of weather, and left again on the 6th. Strong W. and S.W. winds, and heavy sea until reaching Norfolk Island on the 12th. Discharged cargo and took in bananas, hides, etc., and sailed for Auckland again last Thursday morning. Strong S.W. winds with thick weather and heavy rain until yesterday when the vessel sighted the North Cape. Good winds down the coast til arrival. The Laetitia hauled in on the eastern side of the wharf for the purpose of discharging. There was f.n exciting race betweenS the steamers I _otorua and Tararua on the run up from Port Chalmers. She left Port Chalmers on the 21st; Lyttelton en the 22nd at 6 p.m.; Wellington on the 23rd at 7 p.m.; Nelson on the 21th at 5 p.m; arrived at New Plymouth at 8.30 a.m. yesterday, and landed 80 tons cargo; sailed at 7 p.m., and arrived in the Manukau at 9.30 a.m. to-day. Passengers.—Miss Proud, Messrs Geddeß, R. T. Wheeler, Colson, P. McDonald, Kerby, and two in the steerage. We are indebted to Mr Roberts, purser, for files and other favours. The s.s. Taupo arrived from the East Coast and Southern ports early this morning. She left Port Chalmers on the afternoon of the 17th, and arrived at Wellington on Tuesday morning. Experienced north-west breeze, with heavy sea, on run ud. Left Wellington again at noon of Wednesday, but, owing to the heavy weather, was compelled to anchor in Worser's Bay until six oe.loek next morning. Left Napier at 5 p.m. on Friday, Gisborne 5 p.m. Saturday, and Taurangaatl p.m. yesterday, arriving at six o'clock this morning. Light winds, hazy weather, and heavy rain were experienced coming up. Passengers :—Saioon: Mr and Mrs George Cowie, Mr and Mrs Butler, Mr and Mrs K. Graham, Mr Te Roeri and wife, Misses Walker, Miller, Fergusson, Chapman, Messrs Eraser.
