TRUSTEE ELECTION.

The first case of disptued election of highway trustees in New Zealand was heard before the R.M. this morning. Mr Heskech appeared for the plaintiff, Mr George' McLeod. Mr J. D. Gatiand, the ReturningOfficer, was the defendant. Mr McLeodj" sworn, stated that he was a miner in the Coromandel Highway District, and was rated at £15 10s for house and/grounds on Ring's ■ road. He paid the rates on the 28th June, and also was,,-,rated for; allotments on Wynyardton, which he had not paid.
