YESTERDAY'S RACING.
The following events were brought to an issue yesterday after we went to press : — SELLING Kac'k of 30 so vs., with a sweep of 2so vs. each added. Weight for age, with certain allowances. Mr O. McGee's b g Falcon, syrs, 7st 91bs, (McGce) ••• 1 Mr T. Cavanagh's Belle of the Isle, aged, 7st 71bs (Kenny) ... 2 Mr Thorpe's blk.g. Magician, aged, 93t 21bs (Thorpe) 3 Also ran : Gainsbro' (O'Toole), and The Baron (Carey). Betting even on Falcon, 5 to 4 against Belle of the Isle, and 3 to 1 any other. Falcon and Belle of the Isle made a dead heat of this race to begin with, but in the run oil' Falcon won by a length hard held. He was then put up for sale and bought in, the price being £35. Consolation: Handicap of 20 soys., distance, 1 mile. Mr Lennard's Worm, 7st 91bs. ... 1 Mr McGee's May Moon, Bst 101b3 ... 2 Mr Perkins' Pungawerewere, Bst ... 3 Also ran, Nimrod, The Don, Gainsbro', Magician, and Barney. It was quite dark when this race was brought oil", so no description can be given save that the Worm won, and that May Moon was a good second.
