WANGAREI, this day. A SON ACCIDENTALLY KILLS HIS FATHER. Intelligence was brought here yesterday of a most lamentable accident -which occurred at Ruatangata on Monday. Mr William Hodge and his son were engaged in the hush splitting logs with a saw, maul, and wedges. The son was hammering in the wedges, and the father, who was behind him, somehow got his head in the way, and received a terrific blow just above the ear, which rendered him insensible. He died on Tuesday evening, it is believed from internal bleeding.
