The p.p. Hauraki arrived in the Manukau this morning from Waitara. The barque Chasca has cleared for Wellington, where she will load for London. She takes a large quantity ot manganese. Most likely she Will sail this evening. T.he ship Fontenaye, Captain Taylor, sailed early this morning for Newcastle, in ballast. The ketch Venus arrived at Napier from Auckland, on Monday evening. The s.s. Howena brought the following passengers from Tauranga and Mercury Bay, yesterday afternoon :—Messrs Tercoe, Gilmore, Penny. McKay, Master Wrigley, Mrs .Stokes, Miss J3oyes, and two natives. The schooner Owake arrived in the Manukau yesterday from Dmiedin, with a cargo of grain', bonedust, Src. The s.s. Argyle sailed for Whangarei and Mangapai last evening, with passengers and cargo. The s.s. Rotorua sailed last evening for Napier and Southern ports. Her passenger list appeared in our last issue. The Mendoza has occupied the berth on the western side of the wharf, vacated by the Fontenaye. She will commence discharging at once. The brigantine Linda Weber sailed last evening for Lyttelton, with a cargo consisting of cement, door sashes, and timber. The s.s. Argyle is advertised to proceed on an excursion to the Hot Springs on Good Friday. Her usual trip to Coromandel will be made on Saturday, when she will leave the wharf at 10 a.m., returning at 5 p,m. A cablegram received by Messrs Cruickshank and Co., states that the s.s. Hero will leave Melbourne on the 20th, and Sydney on the 2ith, for Auckland. The s.s. Ta'aroa left Onehunga this morning, but anchored at the Heads, tho bar being impassable. Passengers :—Mr Mrs and Miss Reeves, Mrs Gamble, Miss Mackay, Rev J. Smith, Dr Skae, Captain Parr, Messrs Cockley, Chalmers, George. Cahill, Dunbar, Fallon, Diokson, Boulter, Coombes, Taylor, Innes, Kay, McDonald, and 7 steerage. The s.s. Hawea arrived in harbour this morning from Russell, with a cargo of gum, coal, and oysters, and the following passengers :—Saloon —Messrs Jones and Hinney, Mai or Tisdall; steerage, 10 natives. She is advertised to leave for Tauranga and Southern ports at 4 o'c'ock to-morrow afternoon. > The schooner Acadia arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon from Napier, with a cargo of wheat. The departure of tthels.s. Southern Cross, for Napier, has been postponed until to-morrow, on account of the half-yearly inspection. The s.s. Hauraki is advertised to leave the Manukau for Waitara this evening. H.M.S. Wolverine, with His Excellency tho Governor and suite, left Tauranga yesterday afternoon for this port. She had not put in an appearance up to the time we went to pres3, but ■will probably arrive during the night. A topsail schooner was signalled when we went to press. She will probably turn out to fee the Ryno, from the Islands.

The schooner Saxon has cleared at the Customs, and will sail at once for Timaru with a cargo of timber.
