THE SWIMMING MATCHES.—THIS DAY.
The Aquatic Sports are being held {at the Suit water Baths this afternoon. They commenced at 2 o'clock with the Ist Race.—Boys under 12 ; 300 feet : Winner, W. Kir by; T. Flyn, 2. Four started ; a close race. 2nd Race.—Boys under 16 ; 400 feet : Winner, C. Purchas ;T. Murray, 2. Four starters ; all but a dead heat. 3rd Race. —Boys under 9 ; 100 feet : Winner, J. Kirby ; J. Deveney, 2. Four starters ; won by a length, 4th.—Diving for plate ; all ages : Winner, D. McFarlane. f-"5-h.— Long Dive. T. S. Killey, 1 ; four competitors. 6th. —500 yards. Open to all. Yates,!; Galbraith, 2 ; seven started.
