TEERIBLE ACCIDENT.

At Mar<juette, Michagan County, a boxcar was being loaded with nitro-glycerine, when the mass exploded, instantly killing seven men and1 demolishing the car. The bodies of ' three men were blown to atoms, no pieces larger than two pounds being found. The-other four were railway employes, and •were in the cab of the engine when- the- explosion came. Their blackened arid mangled remains were found there with there flesh stripped from their faces and limbs, and bones broken. The shock -was felt three miles away. SHIPWRECK,-—94 PERSONS LOST. Particulars have been received of the wreck of the Atacama, steamer, which went to pieces on a rock, known as Quiebraolas, a short distance south- of Caldera,- on the Chilian coast. The captain, all the officers, and many of :the crew and passengers, were lost. It'is .estimated that 94 persons were drowned, and only:; 30 were saved. The ship was-on -her-trip from Valparaiso to Callao. She struck at eight p.m., when the majority of the -. passengers were below, and so instantaneous was the breaking up of the ship that no time was given to gain the deck The cargo lost was not of great value, and the .passengers were mostly Chilians. The shock; .burst certain pipes connected with-the .boiler, and the escape of steam, mixed with cinders, prevented anybody getting on deck to dower boats, with the aid of which ;and life- bouys all on board might have been .saved.
