WASTE LANDS SALE.

A public auction sale of rural lands in the provincial district of Auckland was held this mornS« by Mr D. A. Tole, Chief Commissioner of Waste Lands at the Waste Lands Office. There was a large attendance, and the bidding during toe sale was very good. The Oruwhaio block sold at an average of £1 ISs od pcr | acre The following prices were realised:—Uruwhao block (situate on the Waitoa Paver), Mauneatawa, Survey District, block 8, section ],2/2 acres, £613, Aitken; section 2, 253 acres, £101, Givin: section 3, 294 acres, £338. Mr Aitken ; section 1, 27S acres, £351, Mr Comiskey; section o, 308 onrp , £701 Mr Aitken ; section 6,231 acres, £oib, IS I'itken; section 7.257 acres, £591, Mr Aitken; sectkin 9, 88 acres, £219, Mr Aitken ; section 10, 93 acres. £193, Mr Aitken ; section 11, 10a acres, £308, Mr Aitkin Lots 1, 2, and o, ot the Tangihua Survey District, near Whangarei, were sold to Mr Lennox at the upset price, viz._, lot 1, 102 acres. £51; lot 2,100 acres £oO; lot p. 100 acres, £75. Lot 107, consisting of 9/ acres m the ntu-ish of Paparoa, Kaipara district, was purchased by Mr Thome at the upset price, £49 10s. The remainder of the lots were either withdrawn or passed. The sums of £4,337 m scrip, and £1910s in cash were received at the conclusion of the sale.
