SUSPICIOUS FINDING OF A DEAD BODY.
ON Friday last the dead body of au infant w;:s found iiL a creek at Papakura by a settler. who at once sent word to the constable in charge of the district. An inquest was held before Captain Jackson, the coroner, on Saturday, and after hearing the evidence an open verdict was returned, as no explanation was forthcoming as to how the body came where it was found. Detective Jeffrey left for Papakura on Saturday, and is still engaged i:i investigating the affair. The body, when found, was iti an advanced state of decomposition.
