The amount arising from this preliminary payment is to be devoted to defraying expenses for registration, &c., purchase of the claims, I and one-third, equivalent to £375, will be handed : over to the Directors, when appointed, for the purpose of starting mining operations. ■ In introducing this mining venture to the favourable notice of the public, the promoters would direct attention to the situation of the property. It is, as will be seen by reference to , the annexed plan, favourably situated for the | strike and underlie of the well-known Piako j and Bird-in-Hand reefs. It adioins the I'iako I Company's Mine on the west side, and the reefs I which are now being worked so successfully in ' the latter must strike through the new Comi pany'a ground. ! It is well known that the reefs of this district improve in size and quality as they are followed towards the Union Claim, and this theory has been satisfactorily proved by the present operaj tions of the Piako Company. As there is a very great probability that satisfactory arrangements may be made with some of the adjoining Companies for permission to work through their mines, and for hoisting. Mi., the promoters do not anticipate that more than a small portion of the Capital will be required. i The Claim comprises an area of 11 men's ; ground. !
