vMr Carlisle died at a quarter to one this afternoon. He retained his consciousness to the last, but never recovered the use of his lower extremities. He conversed at times with his sorrowing friends, and from the first stated his conviction that he had received a fatal injury. About twenty minutes before his decease, he was asked by a friend if he had anything to say. lie replied that he had, but he did not wish to speak then. lie passed away very quietly. An inquest will be held to-morrow. Dr. Stockwell and Dr. Philson will give evidence, aud in all probability the verdict will be "Accidental Death from injury of the spine." The only external injury which is to be seen is a very slight abrasion of the skin, extending from the crown towards the back of the ekull. Deceased leaves a wife and family.
