The Suicide of Mr McKay,
At an inquest on the body of George Gordon McKay, who cut; his throat as the Pacific Hotel last night, a verdict of temporary insanity was returned. Deceased was well-known in Auckland, and lived at the Albert Hotel. He was a trustee under the •will of Mr Anthony who died at the latter place a few weeks ago, and came down only yesterday morning with deoeased's brother to look after business matters. He was found on the bedroom floor with an immense gash made by a large pocket knife. He was formerly a broker in Australia, and a few yeara ago a legal manager of Ooromandel companies. Alburnia tribute cruseed 55 tons for 120 ozs 9 dwts. NEWS FROM WAITEKAURI. Waitekauri news is atill encouraging. Several new companies are forming. The battery is 7/orKing firstrate. The Tairua battery starts on Monday.
