(From our own correspondent.) This day.
Cure at the Lakes. Another wonderful cure has been effected at the Lakes. A Mr Oldham, years suffering with rheumatic gout, went to Manupirua Springs, unable to move unassisted on crutches. After five weeks he has returned complebely cured. Steps have been taken to build a new launch for the Katikati trade by tho owners of the Rowena and Staffa, to draw 2 feet 0 inches loaded. Quick Secures the Overland Mail. A tender for the overland mail service to Napier was accepted for two years, the amount being £2000 per annum. The name is unknown, but supposed to be Mr Quick. No objections were offered at the Licensing Court.
