(From our Special Correspondent.) This day. At the Kaipara licensing oottrt. to-day, Mr Brookfield represented the applicant for the Mangawhare Hotel, Mr Rees for the Kaihu Hotel, and Mr Armstrong for the Toka Toka Hotel.

The counsel employed raised a series of technical objections. The Court has retired to consider an application for an adjournment for thirteen davß.

Mr Hesketh represents the opponents. Tha adjournment will probably be granted,

We are indebted to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company for the following important commercial cablegram:— London, May 13th, 1876. —Wool : The sales comprise about 230,000 bales. 130,000 bales have been taken for export. 7,000 bales have been withdrawn during the past sales. The sales closed at an average decline of i^d, to 2d. Scoured has declined 2d. per lb. since close of last sale. The Antwerp sales are flat. Trade in the manufacturing districts is dull. We look for a decline at next public sales. Up to date 241,000 bales have arrived. Tallow : Market firm. Stocks of all sorts, 151,000 casks. Mutton, 41s. ; beef, 40s. per cwt. LEATHER : 800 sides Australian have been sold since last report. Best sides showed decline on previous rates, in proportion j^d. per lb. Mimosa Bark :—Arrival during th,e past four weeks, 800 tons. Sales reported for the month amount to 300 tons. Quotations for Adelaide]'ground, 45 crowns per ton. Cori'Eß : Market dull. Wallaroo worth per ton. Tin : The market is quiet. Trade demand is slack. Fine Australian tin in warehouse is worth ,£74 per ton. Wheat : The market flat. Adelaide is worth 51s. per 496 lbs.
