The want of proper Steamer Accomodation between Auckland, Thames, and Coromandel has been severely felt for so considerable a time that tho Projectors of this Comp*ny now propose to form a Joint Stock Company (Limited), for the purpose of having a Boat built txpresaly for passenger and cargo traffic, not only to meet the pressing demand* of trade, but with suoh increased speed as to limit the passage to and from Auckland to fonr hours. A contract at once to be entered into with Messrs Eraser & Tinne. Auckland, for a First-class Iron Boat, rep'.ete with every modern improvement and accomodation, to be ready by December next, and estimated to cost £11,000, The nominal capital of tho Company is estimated at £12,600, £1,500 being allowed to meet contingencies. The guarantee, as regards the now Boat, to be as follows :—Speed to ho 12 knots per hour ; and for every knot less than 12 knots per hour, her builders t,o forfeit at tho rate of £1,000 per knot Should the speed of the Boat exceed 12 knots, the builders to recsive a bonus of £1,000 for every knot over 12 knots par hour : such bonus to be taken up in shares in the new Company. It will thus be observed that the Projectors m6an to provido the accommodation required so much by the public, at the same ttao to have a Company which will give to Shareholders a handsome return for the capital invested' The number of Europew inhabitants in the Hauraki district betnjr over 15,000, with the large settled populations at Coromaudel and Thames, and the growing districts of Tairua, Ohinsmurl. and Piako, and tlia immediate prospect of a large addition, through the development of gold mining and agripultural tntarasla (as woll as tho largo native population, who form a considerable item in passenger traffic), provide a field for the enterprise of the projected Steam Company second to none in New Zealand, i NEW TfcK<ESS WATERIALS.
