NATIONAL MART, 130 and 132, Queen-street. JT O T~I C E. TO ARCHITECTS. ENGINEERS, AND CONSUMERS OF LIME. Mr MoLweD, who has lately promoted the burning and introduction of superior Stone Lime into Auckland, hai appointed Messrs W. and G. Winston*, of Cnstom House Street, as A gents for the sale and delivery of his Lime in Auckland. Mr McLeod would also call public attention to the Government Analytis of his superior Lime, which yields from 96 to 07 part* of pure Carbonate of Lime to the 100 Thus, its quality being about 7 per cent, superior to the standard of best Limes used in Gr at BtiUln and America, it will readily be seen that one part of ihis Lime to four or five parts of sand will make a strong mortar, as compared with mortar made from Limes used heretofore in this Province when made from (one) 1 of Lime, and (one) 1 of Sand ; and hence buyers will see the advantages of purchasing this superior Lime, on account of the small quantity of it I which will serve for any given work, such as building • Chimney, etc. Parties desirous of test'ng the quality of this Lime will.on application to Messi Winston* receive gratis small samples ior tests Arrangements are nowmsde for tbe delivery of 1000 busbels per week at their yards on the Breakwater. rpo THE ELECTORS OP WAITEMATA. Gkntlkmkn,—Being assured that several of the candidates, desirous of representing your district in Parliament, are making an active canvass of the electors, and endeavouring to obtain pledges of their votes, I deem it my duty to intimate to you that I disapprove altogether of trying to influence electors to give any promise whatever, and that I consider such proceedings to be virtually an improper Interference with electors, and calculated to destroy tbe usefulness of the vote by ballot, as also being likely to lead to the stirring up of animosity between friends. I trust, therefore, that my mode of action may not be misconstrued into indifference to obtain the support of all electors who may deem me worthy of their confidence. I have the honor to be.
