By the arrival of the Ocean Wave from Levuka to-day, we have Fiji papers to the Bth Sfptember. Mr FJynn, formerly in Mr McCoimick's office, Auckland, died in Levuka of typhoid fever, on the 26th —A handsome Good Templars Hall has been opened in Levuka.—A large sugar mill has been opened at Suva Suva Bay, amid rejoicirjgs.—His Excellency the Governor has delivered an important speech, disclosing hie policy. He has called upon the planters to say whether Levuka is the most suitable place for the capital. — The Times regrets the departure of Mr and Mrs Surplice. The colony was proclaimed on September Ist and the meeting at which his Excellency enunciated his policy took place on the 2nd. Tbe Governor said the Executive Council would be a nominated one, but he asked the planters to write on slips of paper four names of gentlemen whom they were desirous of having chosen, and he would give their recommendations great weight.- Considerable uneasiness was felt at the non-arrival of the : Star of the South.— Maize crops look well and considerable shipments to Auckland are expected.
