IW- The evening service at St. Matthew's ' Church last night was crowded. Tbe choir, assisted by St. Paul's, mustered forty strong, under couductoiship of Mr Joseph Brown. The lessons were read bj' the Revs. B. T. Dudley and W. Calder, and the Key. A. R. Tomliiison, M.A., delivered an able discourse. The anthem of the evening—'* Lead, Kindly Light, Amid th' Encircling Gioom" —was very well rendered. The comedy of " School" and magnificent fatce of '" Playing with Fire," which were pronuced on Saturday at the Prince of Wales theatre with Mich marked success, will be repeated o . Friday, which has been made a grand fashionable night iv honor of the occasion, which is well worthy of the distinction. Several persons who had been summoned for Education Hate, and whose cases had been adjourned upon payment of something on account, have failed to pay up the balance. Their cases will be called on again to-mor-row, and it is well that they should understand that, if not settled before the sitting of the Court, at least 10s 6d costs will be added to the amount to be paid.
