COMMERCIAL.
Messrs B. Tonks ard Co. offered for sale to-day, a number of pianos, by Bord, and Brewer and Co , also a melody organ. The pianos realized £27 to £33. The organ was not sold.
At Mr. L. W. Eaton's sale to-day on the wharf, the schooner "Mageie" of 1(5 tons register, was sold for £43 10s and the boat, 17 feet long overall, for £7. The ketch "Kathenne," was withdrawn.
Mr. Geo. W. Binney held a sale of groceries and produce to d»y at tho Corn Exchange, Queen-street, at which cases of cheese fetcheei 10s 4d The jams and fruits realized average prices ; white oats sold 2s. 9d. to 2s. lid. ; Sydney maize 4d. 10d., New Zealand maize ss. Id. Barley dust, £5 ss. aud pollard £6.
Messrs. Cochrane & Son held a sale of furniture and stock of a country store to-day, which were mostly sold at fair prices. E. and H. Isaacs report of their auction sale to-day, of ships lutings is, that the goods realised about the usual prices, and further report of their boot and shoe sale that the attendance included the leading members of the trade Although the goods submitted were of fiißt class quality and very seasonable in style, the prices realised were not at all favourable to the importer. Value of Bale £750.
