COROMANDEL.
(From our own Correspondent.) This day. In the Union Beach there is nothing to report up to the hour of telegraphing. Tokatea Crushing. The Tokatea has another lot of fifty pounds of specimens yesterday, making about 500 mounds, which will be sent this week to Company's battery to be treated, sending also, about 45 tons general stuff, which should give a good yield. They are also crushing about 150 tons at Bennett's battery which to all appearance will give a yield of fully 2 ounces. The reef in the lowest or the Van level still continues very large, and shows gold freely. It was from this level that a second 501bs picked stone was taken out on JFriday night.
The City of Auckland has treated about lOOlbs picked stone at the Tokatea Company's battery. The yield is nos known, as the retorting is not at present completed.
fe The City of Auckland has lodged 520z. from 1121bs. picked stone. Theigeneral stuff is to be crushed as soon as the contractors have finished the tramway. Great inconvenience is experienced through the Government not pushing on the completion of this line.
