(From our own Correspondent.) Accident in the Manukau IfiaeA serious accident occurred in the Minnkau mine last night to John McKee, who was tamping a shot, which exploded, throwhim against the side, breaking his arm in two places, injuring the other and doingother injuries. Amputation was necessary. He is not expected to recover. He is a brother of the Rev. Mr. McEee, Preebyterian minister, late of the Thames. Mr. McEee was visited by the Eev Mr. Hill and a few friends this morning, but is still in a precarious condition. His arm will be amputated aa 2 o'clock. The doctors hold out little hope as they are afraid that he willfcink under the operation. He was married only a few months ago. Engines for the Challenger. Messrs if rice Bros, are casting their compound engines for the Challenger at their Grahamstown foundry.
