Accident in Vulcan Lane.
Aaoct three o'clock this afternoon one of Mr James Loombe's light spring carts was turning sharply round from Queen-street into Vulcan. Lane when the shaft of the vehicle struck an unfortunate Maori in the chest and knocked him down. Before he could get out of the way the horse trod on the poor fellow's foot, crushing two of the toes badly, and causing them to bleed profusely. He was taken care of by two of the police, who also took the name and address of the owner of the cart.
