(Per Press Telegram Agency.) This day. Mr Sheehan. Messrs Sheehan and Cadman, M.P.C,'s of Auckland, are to leave here to-day. Native Meeting. Sir Donald McLean gave a big entertainment to the Maories at Hastings. Sir Donald was not there himself. Mr Locke, R.M., spoke ; also, Paora, Apatu, Kihuoa, Ilohepa, Tamamutu, Rawiri, Kohia and others. They expressed loyalty to the Queen and appreciation of Sir Donald McLean's services, and a desire to live at peace with the pakeha, and a wish to participate in progress and civilisation.
