(From our own Correspondent.) This day.
The Ship Timaru.
The ship Timaru, seven days from the Bluff, arrived yesterday. She is detained at the Heads by heavy westerly weather. The tug is unable to tow her in. Rain and Snow.
The weather has broken; winter has come with heavy rain, sleet, and snow ; the hills are covered. The change is sudden and severe. The westerly wind is bringing in vessels.
Shipping.—Auckland Passengers. The Duke of Edinburgh, Union, and Bobycito arrived from Newcastle ; tbe Agnes Jessie, from Hobart Town. Sailed—Peerless, schooner, for Auckland ; Ladybird, for Auckland, with the following passengers for the Manukau :—Mr and Mrs Salmond, Mr Banner man,-and five boys for the training ship.
