This day. The races have commenced. There was a steady heavy rain from an early hour this morning, which kept on increasing until 11.30, when it changed to a southerly bluster. Thei c were very few people present. About the time the first bell was rung four stewards met, and agreed to postpone the races till twelve o'clock to-morrow. There was intense dissatisfaction amongst the people, who hooted the stewards. It is still raining, ana very much overcast
