POLICE COURT.—This Day.
(Before His Worship the Mayor.) DRTTNKKNNESS. Nancy Gorham was fined 5a for being drunk on Saturday night. Patrick Smith, and John Mopland, forfeited their bail. ARSON. Cecilia Allen, was brought up on a charge of setting fire to the dwelliag house of Mr Howard at Takapuaa, on the 27th instant. The prisoner, a mere child, who had beea employed as servant in the family, was remanded until Monday next. A FALSE CHEQUE. Arthur Lisle ai)d .Robert Atkin were charged with obtaining the sum of £3 in money, from Michael Corcoran, of the Grey hound Hotel, on the 28th instant, by mean* of a false cheque. 1 Prisoners were held to bail in £10 each,!, and sureties in the same amount, to appear to-morrow. UNLICENSED HAWKER. Joseph McLean appeared in answer to > summons charging him with a breach of No. 1 by-law, by trading as a hawker without a license. Remanded until to-morrow. This was all the business.
