CRUSHING RETURNS.
GRAHAMSTOWN,
(From our own Correspondent.) This day. The Bright Smile crushing is improving. There was no retorting to-day, the company having only a small force working, arranged to run the month.
The Loyalty will clean up after the trial crushing from the shaft; on Monday. The reef is proved to be 25ffc. wide, and is expected to average Gdwts. from this trial. The Lord Nelson crushed 100 tons surface stuff for 14ozs. They are sending 50 tons of stuff from the main workings now to the mill.
The Golden Calf start crushing 12 tons from the new reef on Monday, and expect 100 ozs. gold.
The Old Whau is cleaning up to-day, and have 177 ozs. of amalgam from 111 tons
stone,
The Long Drive Co, will retort this evening, and will have a fair return.
