THE CATHOLIC MOVEMENT IN GERMANY.
The warfare going on in Germany, between trie Government and the Roman Catholics, has been intensified by the recent arrest of five priests, eleven' expulsions, and twtity sequestrations of church property, in addition to the dissolution of four Catholic, societies and inquiries into six others, one-of which has since been dissolved. T A circular, signed by Dr. Dollinger, convening a conference at Honn next September, " of men belonging to different churches ani desiring the great future union of Ciugtians," has been published. The purposeof the conference is stated to be "anexamination of the formula of faith of the firfl wuturies of the church, as alao the -docfnnei and institutions which were held essential and indispensable in the Universal Cbutch of the east west before the great separation." It is not intended to fuse existing chnrdie^ > but to establish ecclesiastical communioa'oa the basis of -" unity in things essential!';:
