COROMANDEL.
(From our own Correspondent.)
This day,
There has been a temporary discharge of some hands in the Union Beach mine, as they can get no more stone at present, until the lower Jevel is further ahead; will start immediately on the new shaft. A lecture last night by Mr Stewart, on the transit of Venus, was largely attended. Collection good for cemetry improvement. The Bismark leader has an average of 14 inches wide. Gold is seen at each breaking down. It is an important find. Tbs Plutus battery is making great progress. They will have the fires under the boiler next week. The Plutus winze is down to the traur^-ay level, and open up all the mines. The tramway is nearly finished.
