LYTTELTON.

'From our own Correspondent.)

This day. Arrived, yesterday, James Hannell, from Freemantle ; Ladybird, from Duuedin.

The deck-house of the schooner Kaituna was seen 30 miles off the coast. All hopes of her safety are now given up. There is no doubt now that she has added another to the list of those sea casualities, the distressing details of which will never be known, as the crew must have all perished. The Kaituna left Havelock, timber-laden, bound to Oamaru, on the 30th September. During a heavy gale she put into Akaroa ; left that port on the 12th October, and was not afterwards heard of.
