TAURANGA.
This day. Mr Bodell, auctioneer, has beenj elected Chairman of the Town Board.
Captain Morris, M.P.6., addresses his conslituents to-night. The Tarawera and Ohinemutu road will be open in six weeks. Tourists will then be enabled to drive from' Tauranga to within i ight miles of Rotomahana proper. Memorials from justices to Sergt. Naden, A.C., on leaving district were signed by the Resident Magistrates and every J.P. in the place. It is most complimentary to that excellent officer. Another public memorial H in course of signature to him. His loss will be much felt here.
The Vincent grounded at- Maketu on Thursday night. She was got off next tide.
