The schooner Herald, Captain Frost, ''".* arrived from Levuka to-day at 2 p.m. She brings a cargo of cotton, copra, and oil, consigned to order. . The Shipping Company's barque Hylton Castle, Captain Scott, arrived from Newcastle this morning with a cargo of coals for . Messrs Henderson and Macfarlane and Co. The barque Woodville, Captain fLusher, arrived from Newcastle this morning with a cargo of coals for Mr M. Niccol. She left Newcastle the same day as the Hylton' Castle, and experienced similar weather. The schooner Edith, Captain Trayte, arrived from Aitutake and the Islands this afternoon. She left Auckland on January 25th. Arrived at Earotonga in February. From thence cruised for several months round the islands. Finally left Aitutlke for Auckland on the 19th ult. Had light variable winds thoughout the passage, USThe brig Isabella arrived to-day from Newcastle, which port {she left on the 23rd ult. She has had the same weather as the other vessels from the same port. The Belles Brandon arrived in Levuka on the 25th ins: t. It is uncertain whether her cargo of timber will be sold in Levuka or will be taken on to Samoa. g^The schooner Papua arrived from Barotonga at two a'clock this afternoon. She left Auckland on fciie 3rd April, and arrived at Karotonga 21st April. From thence, after two months' cruising among the islands of Cook and Hervey Groups, started for Auckland on the 19th June. Experienced li£,ht S. winds during the run home. On the 29th June spoke the whaling barque Onward, six months out, with 13 tuns oil. Boarded the ship Allahabad on the 20th May in long. 159, 47 W., lat. 428 ; all well.
