At half-past nine last night the Wanganui steamer was found to be on fire, smoke rising from the engine-room and skylight. After twenty-nine minutes' hard work the flames;.were got under. The officers' quarters, engine-room, poop, and deck, were charred. The engines are apparently undamaged. She steamed for Riverton at seven o'clock. Mr McLean, of the Albion, and officers and men of the Babington rendered valuable assistance.
