COMMERCIAL.
The Market to-day presented rather a tame appearance, and trade generally was dull. There were scarcely any vegetables brought in from the country, but a considerable quantity of fine fresh butter was exhibited at the stores of Messrs Fenton, Motion, and Farcy, at Is per lb. We observed some excellent dairy-fed pork at Streeter's store, and a fair show of mutton, beef, and lamb at the butcher's. At Mr Arthur's poultry sale this morning fowls sold from Is Id to 2s 3d ; ducks, 2s to 2s 4d ; turkeys, 3s Id to 3s lOd ; geese, 4s 3d to 4s Gd; and a number of cockatoos, new arrivals from Tasmania, 10s to 21s.
