BANKERS: The National Bank of Now Zealand. SOLICITORS : Messrs Smith and Anderson. INTERIM SECRETARY: Mr Richard H. Leary. There is no branch of commercial enterprise in New Zealand which presents such favourable opening fer the investment of capital as that of Fire and Marine Insurance. The success which has attended the establishment of the " New Zealand" and the "South British" Companies is a proof of the business. Fire and Marino Insurance is so rapidly increasing that there is ample room for another company in the colony. Largely-increased facilities for covering the class of risk are imperatively required, and the National Insurance Company is founded to supply this want. This company is not started in opposition to any of the other New Zealand Companies, but is intended to co-operate with them in fostering tho Trade and Commerce of the colony, and concentrating in the country the large capital which is annually drafted out of it by foroign insurance companies. In order to make this a purely colonial company, and to induce a largo amount of business through the influence of its shareholders, it is proposed to distribute the shares over the whole oolony, and in their allotment to keep in view tha ability of shareholders to influence business to the company. 40,000 Shares will be reserved for Otago and Southland, and the remainder allotted to the Northern province!. The operations of the Company will bo conducted on sound principles, and extreme caution will be exorcised in tho selection of risks. It is intended that the Articles of Association shall provide for the Election of Local Boards of Directors by the shareholders in chief commercial centres of the colony. Tho amount proposed to be called in will, it ii estimated, make a Sufficient Paid-up Capital to warrant the Company in commencing operations, and it is not anticipated that any further Call will be necessary. Tho Provisional Directors have secured the services of Mr A. Hill Jack, tho present Rosidont Secretary of the Victoria Insurance Company in New Zealand, as General Manaokb. of this Company. Applications for Shares will be received by the Branches of the National Bank of New Zealand in tho various provinces, and by HENDERSON & MACFARLANE. 14, Queen-street, Auckland. PRELIMINARY NOTICE.
