This day, 2 p.m. H/Yzelbaxk.—An important find of gold in the Hazelbank Company's ground has been A It is apparently a continuation of horning Star reef. The lode is 18 inches k'':k, and shows gold in the face. Some nice Specimens from it are to hand. The tribute was only let on Monday. Albuknta.—Nice gold was obtained today from the stopes of the specimen leader. Crashing with the full force of 20 head of stampers is proceeding. Golden Caw. —The crushing promises a good average yield. Golden Crown. —The crushing of a lot of stuff from the intermediate level this week \a showing remarkably well. The Company will have a la rge return by the end of the current fortnight.
Mary Ann Bird, a washerwoman, has been committed for trial at the Supreme Court with illegally pawning clothing. There is every prospect of Grahamstown being Hooded to-day owing to the heavy rain and the strong wind blowing up the Gulf. The water is already washing over the end of the street, and there is two hours' tide to come.
