HEARING OF BANKRUPTCY CASES
MINING INTELLIGENCE

This day. In the District Court to-day the case of Vickery versus the Abraham Lincoln Gold Mining Company, an application for windingup order was granted, but will not lie signed until next Court day. In the bankruptcy case of J. J. Fernandez, .the discharge, which was withheld last Court day was granted to-day. The case of Joseph Wallace was struck out of the bankruptcy list he not appearing. The Court remarked that in cases like this where some creditors reside in Auckland notice ought to be given in one of the Auckland papers as well as in the official gazette of the district.
In the case of Jacob Ballin the opposition was withdrawn, and a discharge granted. The case of Thomas Rawdon, adjourned last Court-day in order that witnesses on behalf of the opposition creditors might be heard, was again adjourned. At the Police Court this morning eight men were brought up and accused of having discharged li rearms and iireworks on New Year's morning. They were dismissed with a caution.
Qukkn of the May.—A little gold was found in the reef in the East drive 100 feet from the shaft. The reef is 30 inches thick.
Golden Calf.—Crushing for this mine has been resumed.
Black Angel.—Tbe crushing is shewing well.
