THE NORTH PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY of San Franeiaco having entered into a contract vith the Honorable the Postmaster-G-eneval of New Zealand for the conveyance of Mails between San Francisco, Honolulu, Fiji, Auckland,' Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, and vice versa, the dates of sailing will be from Port Chalmers on the Ist and from Auckland on the 7th of every month, to commence from Port Chalmers on the Ist of April next. The Service will be performe I by the Powerful Side-wheel Steamer 3 the 'NEBRASKA/ 2143 Tons Register, 'NEVADA/ 2143 Tons Register, 'DAKOTA/ of 2153 Tou3 Register, all built in I<SGS, under official supervision, and classed extra Al at American Llojrts. For Passenger accommodation these vessels are unsurpassed by any afloat. Perfect arrangements have been made to connect with the Pacific Railway, and with the magnificent lines of steamers running between New York and England. Passengers will be booked right through. First-class fare, from all ports in New Zealand to England, including the use of the celebrated Silver Palace Cars over the American Continent, will not exceed £S5. Second and third-class passengers will be taken at proportionately low rates. Return tickets at a reduced rate will be issued, and passengers will be allowed to remain over at any and all ports and stations called at. The contract time between San Francisco ard Auckland, and vice versa, is 24 days. Passengers who may desire lo proceed right through will reach England within 40 days from Auckland. Every exertion will be made to make thi3 the popular passenger route. Arrangements will be made to connect in New Zealand with the intercolonial steamers, so that Australasian passengers may be conveyed right through at a slight increase upon New Zealand rates.
